Vetayadu Vilayadu has created history at
the Chennai box-office. The film in its third weekend had better
collections than
Sillunu Oru Kadhal, the
big release of this week! VV in its first two weeks, from Aug 25
to Sep 6 has netted a record Rs 1,69,31,859 from five Chennai
screens.
This is the
highest ever net for two weeks from Chennai city, breaking the
record of Chandramukhi and Anniyan. It was able to break the
records largely due to higher ticket rates and the new tax
exemption for Tamil films.
Here is the
break up- Sathyam- Rs 56,01885, Albert- Rs 35,63,334, Abhirami-
Rs 35,97,986, Melody, Rs 29,54,822, Bharat- Rs 12,13,772. VV in
its third weekend took 98.5 percent collections while SOK in its
opening weekend had 98 percent and is at second place.
Lago Rahe Munnabhai is
at third place and Thimiru is at fourth position.
Something Something is
at fifth position.
